Speed dating and weird questions

Watch out people! I passed my driver's license exam. On a same day, on Wednesday, I left to drive on my own. It was quite scary but I made it alive. Now I have to drive about month on my own and then go back to driving school to get some extra lessons and have a group lesson where they're trying to demonstrate group pressure. Maybe in a year I will at least have my final license.

Recently I bumped into speed dating and I started to think what kinda questions you should be asking from that unfamiliar person who's sitting opposite of you. I found this website uk.askmen.com where there were ten questions for men to ask from women during a speed date.

I don't know much about speed dating and I probably wouldn't go on one, but I think it is a brilliant way to know immediately would that person actually be interesting and could your lives go along each other. For example a question about kids:

Do you want or do you have any children?Ahh, children. Depending on your personal goals, this question could very well be the deal-breaker.

Like the website said this might be the big deal-breaker and funny thing is that in a non-speed-dating relationship start you wouldn't ask those kinda things at the beginning. For some it actually might be a reason why they break up. Others want kids and others don't but is it worth it that you wait for months before you even find out that in the end you want different things? I'm sorry for my straightness but I've made mistakes like that. In the end I realize that it cannot work.

Other thing in starting a relationship is the importance of communicating and having fights. This might sound weird but I actually kinda wait fro the first fight. I'm not looking for trouble but I want to know that we can get through tough times and manage to solve things and compromise. Am I the only one who thinks like this? I know I am a bit different and weird but it would be great not to be the only one thinking like this.

KESÄ SUMMER SOMMAR

Summer is all on. And while everybody else is outside having fun and enjoying the summer, I'm inside working. I am very lucky to have a job and I actually enjoy working. I'm a waitress/cleaner/someone-who-does-anything-that's-needed in a sushi restaurant, HankoSushi. Sometimes it doesn't even feel work because of the coworkers. There are people from all around the world; Estonia, Pakistan, China and Ukraine and I can speak English almost all the time, except for the customers. 

Couple nights back I got to spend an awesome night with few of my friends watching Pirates of the Caribbean. Well we watched the first two and then continued to sauna. There were three girls and one guy in the sauna. Recently I participated into a survey made by HS (the biggest Finnish news paper) where they wanted to know what people thought about going to sauna with the opposite gender (sekasaunominen). I told them that I have been in sauna with males and there's nothing weird about it. I recon that mix gender sauna is part of the Finnish culture and it can never be removed.

Sauna is a sacred place at some level for me at least and like we talked couple days ago with my friends we came up with this interesting observation. Although we act pretty sexually (if I may say) towards each other, with a sense of humor of course, the behavior stopped immediately we got to the sauna and showering facilities.

Tomorrow I am off to a friends summer cottage with three guys and two girls. I'm really excited and I bet it's gonna be great. If I continue with the last subject we have been talking about going to sauna all together and I trust my friends so there won't be any awkward situations. I think the most important thing in going into sauna with the opposite gender is to create the most comfortable atmosphere so everyone would feel okay with themselves.

What is better than more or less drunk people playing soccer? D-cup was all on on the third last day of school. Unfortunately because I twisted my ankle the day before while playing basketball I wasn't able to attend and we had to get a replacement in our team.

Kesäkorva, Summer Festival we have at school where we have heaps of bands, food for free, candyfloss and popcorn! It's always great except my friend and I had our ankles twisted..

I went to see my little brothers soccer game but unfortunately his knee quit so he had to step aside after 45 minutes.

Isn't he cute!? He's my little summer-man :)

Teatterihullu

Paljon on taas tapahtunut. On paljon asioita joita oon halunnu jakaa täällä, mutta aikataulu on taas ollut aika tiukkaa.


Puheliton päivä
Pari viikkoo sitten pidin kännykättömän päivän, joka veny seuraavaanki päivään koska unohin ladata ihanisen kännykkäni ja Applen tuotteet ovat niin kuuluisia hyvästä akustaa. Mutta se oli mielenkiintonen kokemus ja suosittelen sitä muillekin. Päivä ilma puhelinta tarkoitti siis ilman tekstareita, puheluita, musiikkia ja internetti mahdollisuutta kaikkialla. Aluksi se oli hankalaa ja esimerkiksi kun piti googlettaa jotain tai bussiaikatauluja pitäis tarkistaa. Loppujen lopuksi se oli ihan hyvä, koska (kröhöm) kuuntelin tunnilla paremmin. Suosittelisin kokeilemaan koska päivä ilman kännykkää ei ole niin hankalaa.

Tällaisia päiviä suunnittelin myös useampia mm. päivä ilman internettiä, päivä vegaanina, päivä ilman kenkiä, päivä ilman puhetta jne.


Teatris 24.-26.5.

Teatris viikonloppu oli täynnä toimintaa ja uusia ihmisiä ja kokemuksia.

Lauantaina kokoonnuttiin Mnemosynen työryhmän kanssa Kansallisteatterilla 8.00 ja purettiin lavasteet pakusta. Sen jälkeen mä lähdin Naamiotyöpajaan Nuorisokeskus Happeen. Ajatuksena oli, että saisin enemmän vinkkejä fyysisen teatterin tekemiseen. Työpajassa olin vanhimmasta päästä, kaikki oli 14-16 -vuotiaita, mutta loppujen lopuksi työskentely oli hyvin itsenäistä, eikä nuori seura haitannut.
Paja loppui klo 13, jonka jälkeen mun piti kiirehtiä Roolituspalvelun koe-esiintymisiin Gloriaan. Olin edellisenä iltana rustannut oman mologitekstin kuvauksia varten. Mua ei yllättäen jännittänyt hirveästi ja olin rauhallisin mielin. Pääsin sisään jo klo 14 ja ensin vuorossa oli pienimuotoinen haastattelu, jossa kysyttiin mm. "Miksi pidät näyttelemisestä?", "Mitä harrastat?" ja "Mitä susta tulee isona?" Olin todella ylpeä suorituksestani ja sain kehuja kuvaajalta. Puhuttiin jälkeenpäin TeaKin pääsykokeista ja muusta teatteri-alaan liittyvästä.
Klo 17 Mnemosyne työryhmän kanssa tavattiin takasin Kansallisteatterilla Willensaunan näyttämöllä, jossa meillä oli puoli toista tuntia aikaa laittautua ennen esitystä. 18.25 meille annettiin 20min aikaa laittaa rekvisiitta ja kaikki paikalleen ennen kun yleisö päästettiin sisään ja esitys alkoi 18.45.
Esitys meni upeasti! Lavalla tunne oli upea. Rakastan lavalla olemista.

Esitykse jälkeen käytiin juhlistamassa hyvää esitystä ja ohjaajan synttäreitä.

Sunnuntaina 10.30 alkoi toinen työpaja, tälläkertaa Maskeerautyöpaja, jossa opeteltiin vanhennusta ja kolmannen asteen palohaavojen tekoa. Tavallaan homma oli tuttua, koska musikaaleissa on aina jossain vaiheessa tullut vastaan vanhennuksia. Viime vuonna Uudessa-Seelannissa yritin tehdä samantyyppistä haavaa tai vastaavaa kun pukeuduin zombieksi. Maskeerausta oli todella hauskaa tehdä, minä tein Millin meikin ja Milli teki mulle.

Sunnuntaina saatiin vielä kunniakirja Teatriksen loppugaalassa! HYVÄ ME!!

Vappu! Vappen!

Vappu on ohi ja onnellisin mielin eteenpäin tokokuuta.

Vappu lipui ohi rauhallisissa ja vähän vähemmän rauhallisissa tunnelmissa; kaverilla grillaten Vartiokylässä, pikkusen 18-vuotis pippaloissa ja leffoja katsoen toisella kaverilla Lauttasaaressa. Joitain heistä en ole tavannut yli vuoteen eli vaihtarivuoden jälkeen.
Pian voisin pitää grillaus-/kesänavauksen joillekin harvoille valituille kun meille on kotiin valmistunut oma grillikatos. Toivottavasti sää jatkuu hyvänä ainakin!

Sain muuten huutoa kotona ennen kun lähdin illan viettoon, kun kysyin pikkuveljeltäni Pietarilta, 13, oliko hänen luokkalaisiaan lähdössä Kaivopuistoon vapuksi. Vanhempani pitivät mulle hirveän saarnan siitä, että ei hänen tarvitse vielä tietää siitä yhtään mitään ja häntä pitää suojella. Mun mielestä vastalause oli aika idiootti, koska kuten Pietari sanoi pari hänen kaveriaansakin oli mennyt paikanpäälle, hän tietää siitä ja miksi tuollaista asiaa pitäisi peitellä. Se on fakta, että vappuna surullisen moni alaikäinen vetää överit ja joudutaan viemään hoitoon, uutisissakin oli, että nuorin ensiapua saanut oli 13-vuotias (78 alaikäistä sai ensiapua, nuorin 13-vuotias). Sellaista tapahtuu ja on mun mielestä parempi, että Pietari tietää mitä siellä tapahtuu ja kyllä hän on sen verran fiksu ettei lähde semmoiseen mukaan. Alkoholin ei pitäis olla mikään piiloteltu asia vaan täysin normaali ja arkipäiväinen, ei nyt siinä mielessä, että joka ilta juodaan, mutta ruoan kanssa voidaan juoda ja saunan jälkeen juodaan kaljaa. Mutta siinä ei ole mitään järkeä jos Pietaria yritetään turhaan elättää pullossa ja kun hän jostain keksii alkoholin hän haluaa kokeilla kaikkea jännää mitä sillä saa aikaan. Mitä enemmän joku asia kielletään ja tehdään tabu, sitä enemmän sitä halutaan kokeilla, mutta se on vain mun mielipide.



It is funny to think that the exchange students who came to NZ in last July are coming home in the end of this month. I actually had a dream about NZ last night where I studied there from January till July and came back to Finland to study here the rest of the year. I don't know how that would have turned out but maybe it is good that I can concentrate on living here and not there.

Lena, my German sister, is coming over in July! Yay! I can't wait to see her because by then we haven't seen each other in a year or so. We're going to see some of Helsinki and probably go to Suomenlinna. (If you have any good suggestions where should I take a person who has never been in Finland comment on below please.)
